Brenda Clouten

Brenda Clouten was an amazing woman who lived in Maitland for more than 25 years with the last 16 spent at Largs NSW. She loved the arts. The Brenda Clouten Scholarship was founded by Vicki and Bruce Woods to keep her alive in our hearts. The scholarship is a lasting memorial to benefit upcoming talent in the Hunter area.

The Brenda Clouten Art Scholarship is available to visual artists under 25 who live in the Hunter Valley, including Maitland, Newcastle NSW, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Cessnock and Singleton.

In the past, first prize is cash prize was a $3,000 cash prize to allow the artist to travel and expand their artistic learning. From 2012 this is now an 11 Week Exhibition at Maitland Regional Art Gallery (MRAG) to exhibit their works in a professional gallery.

Entries close June 15 and are the winner announced in August.
